About us
Ignite IT is an innovative IT consultancy focusing on delivering brilliant solutions to tricky technical problems. We were formed in 1998 and are based in London, UK.
Technical Director
Ben Summers is the founder and lead consultant at Ignite.
Ben has been working in IT for over twelve years. He started off in web development as the web was beginning to take hold. He was one of the very first people in the UK to build interactive websites, and has been getting the most out of the web for clients ever since. He’s developed desktop applications, built large-scale services, and used more computer platforms than he cares to count. Ben has created and launched several open source products now in use throughout the world.
Ben has done it all - from systems administration to development to management. He has in depth knowledge of software engineering, at all levels from the operating system to the application.
But it’s not about the technology for Ben. It’s about building things for people which make their lives easier and help their businesses prosper.
Ben is a mathematics graduate from the University of London and a chartered member of the British Computer Society.

Jennifer Smith is our project manager and looks after all our clients.
Jennifer is a history graduate from the University of London. She holds a Masters in Information and Library Studies with distinction from Loughborough University, and a Diploma in Management. She is a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals, a member of the Special Libraries Association, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
